CH 301 - Organic Chemistry I Credit(s): 4 This course is designed as the introductory organic chemistry course for chemistry majors and those interested in professional studies. Topics encompass basic structure, bonding, nomenclature, stereochemistry, properties, and reactions of organic molecules. The laboratory portion of this course emphasizes the use of organic and analytical chemistry laboratory techniques. Lab projects focus on using a combination of spectroscopy, chromatographic, and wet chemical techniques to analyze pure substances and mixtures. Credit may not be received for both CH203 and CH301. Three hours lecture and three hours lab per week.
