BI 407 - Molecular Genetics Credit(s): 4 A study of the technology which initiated the genetic revolution and discoveries that resulted from the application of this technology. Topics include restriction enzymes, recombinant DNA (vectors, clones, libraries), and DNA sequencing and mapping. Discussion of some of the major discoveries, which resulted from the application of recombinant DNA technology including genetic control of morphogenesis, immunological specificity and cancer. A substantial portion of the course will be spent in the lab applying recombinant DNA techniques. Cell Biology Content Category course. Prerequisite(s): BI 200 , BI 205 . Offered: Fall
