Biology: Biomedical Engineering, B.S.

Biology: Biomedical Engineering is geared towards students intending to pursue graduate studies in biomedical engineering. Biology: Biomedical Engineering majors may obtain a B.S. degree by completing a minimum of 29 biology credits. Biology: Biomedical Engineering majors are required to take at least four upper-division courses and earn a grade of C- or above. At least one course must be taken from each of three Biology Content Categories. Each course may count for only one content category for a student. Students may complete a 3:2 program with Washington University-St. Louis, in which case, one Biology Content Category course from the first year in the graduate program at Washington University will be transferred back to Millikin to complete the Content Category requirements.

Total minimum required credits for Biology: Biomedical Engineering 29 Biology, 19 Chemistry, 7 Mathematics, 8 Physics, 3 Other = 66 credits

3-semester core (12 credits):


Four upper-level electives, with at least one course in each of three categories:


Ecology, Cell/Molecular Biology, Systems Biology (15-16 credits). To count towards this requirement, a minimum of a C- must be earned.
