NU 529 - Advanced Pathophysiology & Pharmacology Across the Lifespan II

This advanced course provides an in-depth exploration of pathophysiological concepts and their pharmacological applications across the lifespan. This course is the second of two sequential courses designed for master’s level graduate nursing students. The curriculum focuses on the mechanisms of disease, the body’s response to pathological conditions, and the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of major drug classes. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the interplay between complex disease processes and the therapeutic interventions that nurses can implement. Topics include but are not limited to oncology, respiratory, acid-base balance, cardiovascular, ECG arrhythmias, kidney & urological, reproductive, and musculoskeletal topics. Additionally, students will examine the clinical implications of pharmacological therapies, including considerations for drug interactions, adverse effects, and patient education.
