NU 727 - Diagnostics and Procedures for Family Nurse Practitioners Credit(s): 3 This course is foundational for family nurse practitioners focusing on the selection, interpretation, evaluation, and application of diagnostic testing and procedures for diverse populations across the lifespan. Emphasis will be on the following procedures: basic wound care, suture placement, injections, ear irrigation, removal of foreign bodies, performing pelvic exams, Pap smears, interpreting basic EKGs, performing visual acuity tests, and applying splints, with a strong emphasis on proper technique, patient assessment, and clinical decision-making in performing these procedures.
