PY 261 - An Introduction to Clinical Nuclear Science Credit(s): 2 Topics include radioactive decay, fusion, fission, energy production from/requirements for nuclear reactions, techniques in nuclear medicine: NMR, MRI, PET, etc., production of radioisotopes and their chemical and biological interactions within the human body. One, two-hour lecture per week plus visits to Decatur Memorial Hospital (DMH) and Zevacor Molecular facilities within DMH for on-site introductions to radioisotope production, applications of nuclear medicine, and imaging facilities.
