HM 475 - Capstone Internship Credit(s): 7-9 Students are placed as an intern in selected learning sites including community, state, social service, or welfare agencies based on the student’s interest and agency acceptance. These placements, which are supervised by a faculty member and an agency/site supervisor, are considered pre-professional experiences, and the expectation is that students will be using the knowledge, skills, and values, learned while pursuing their major course of study. Students work on site will be based upon an individually developed learning plan that integrates and applies previous course content and clinical skills. Through concurrent class participation on campus, clinical reports of field experience, paper assignments, clinical intervention presentations, and group discussion in their classroom time during this semester, students will integrate their experiences and their previous academic knowledge with their practical experience.
