ED 440 - Middle Grades: Early Adolescents and Schools (Grades 5 - 8)

Study of the development of early adolescents (ages 10-14). Builds on knowledge from ED 200 or ED 201, Human Development, and other psychological foundation courses. Focuses on the developmental characteristics and the needs of early adolescents. Includes the advisory role of the middle grade (5-8) teacher in providing guidance as well as in assessing, coordinating and referring students to health and social services.
